Clubhouse Update - Janurary 2010
Building Schedule
As mentioned in the last update, Pupovac Constructions were awarded the contract to construct the clubhouse. The contract has been finalised and signed off by both parties. The contract outlines the scope of works, building schedule and agreed costs, and specifies a 22 week building period. Preliminary works including surveying, fencing off and site set up have already been undertaken with excavation works expected to start by the week ending 5th February. Members attending either of the first 2 events of the KJ winter season at the venue should see the project rising from the ground.
Lease
The 21 year lease with Council has been signed and will take effect from the time the building is occupied upon completion. Since the last update the club successfully negotiated a cheaper lease fee which will save us some dollars into the future. The lease is affordable and will be covered, along with maintenance costs, by user fees and existing funding, ie Fitness 5 etc. Signing the lease was a critical step as construction could not commence until this had been carried out.
Funding
The first milestone payment from the federal government was deposited in our project account on 28th January, as scheduled. The second and largest payment, is due to be paid at the end of February. The last two payments are scheduled in the second half of the year and will cover the course upgrades and landscaping works which will take place next summer. Other funding from state and local government sources will be paid to use around June this year.
Donations
The club has registered the project with the Australian Sports Foundation such that all donations over $2 are fully tax deductible. If anyone would like to make a donation towards the clubhouse, an official project donation form needs to be filled out (available from the club). Businesses or individuals donating more than $500 of cash or in-kind support will be recognised on an honour board to be located in the clubhouse foyer.
