Race 5 of the KJs 2008 Summer Series
On Thursday 1st January - Mount Kembla
"Hangover Handicap"

Race 5 of the Summer Series is on this Thursday 1st January, at Mount Kembla, noting that Harry Graham Drive is still closed to vehicular traffic.

This race sees us at Mt. Kembla for the famous Hangover Handicap. This race is a proven hangover cure........well it's definitely a great way to welcome in the new year and catch up with everyone before the festive season ends. Please note the 4:00pm start time for seniors & 3:45pm for juniors. Also the senior race is handicapped so please make sure you register atleast 15minutes prior to the nominated event start time. As always, it is a good idea to get there early and add extra traveling time as the only access to the venue is still via Mt. Keira Rd or Picton Rd.

Please note, the forecast for race day is similar to last year, ie very warm and temperatures as high as 30degC. All competitors are advised to drink plenty of water before the event, particularly if you have been out celebrating the night before. Bring water with you and take frequent sips in the two hours before the start to maintain fluid levels. Water stations will be provided. If you are not feeling 100% you should either elect to marshal or treat it as a training run.

The schedule of races for the day is as follows.
1km - 3.45pm (juniors)
2km - 3.45pm (juniors)
4 mile - 4.00pm (seniors)

Please remember that Harry Graham Drive is still closed below the scramble track so access to the venue is still Via Mt. Keira Rd. or Picton Rd. Please add the extra 15minutes traveling time.

See you all on Thursday for what promises to be another great day of running and a Happy New Year!!
