If possible please hand your Velcro strip to marshal or head to finish area, notify timers and place Velcro in collection bin. This applies to non swim course finishers also.
Medical or Other Help
The Australia Day Illawarra Aquathon has an excellent safety record and one that we are keen to maintain. If you require medical assistance, a First Aid officer is present at the start/finish section, and another couple will roam the course. Also, marshals have two-way radios to enlist any medical assistance required.
In the water, qualified life guards patrol the swim and will be able to assist you if the need arise. For assistance, firstly, don't panic, move to the side, or if raise your arm for help.
Special Medical Needs
Please contact the event director to discuss any special medical requirements you may require.

Remember!
Registration
From (6.30-8.30am, Wollongong Harbour Foreshore) - to avoid long queue times please pre enter. On day entry is accepted and although we are very efficient it is important to allow at least 60-90 minutes to register and prepare before your event start. On day fees are listed in general guide section.
Start Times
See 'Start Times' section.
Note: for exact wave starts see 'Start Time Board' at Registration on day.
The event is divided into categories, with each having a separate swim cap colour. Generally juniors, females and teams have separate wave starts to avoid large groups and for safety. Approx. 3 minute separation between wave starts. This will be identified on 'Swim Start' board at registration.
Transition Area
Allocate at least 20-30 minutes before your event start to set up your 'Transition' area. This is a section (closed to public) where you are to place any gear you will be needing after the swim (And to drop swim equipment after swim leg). Place your running shoes (socks if want, but easy to use elastic laces and no socks - powder in shoes help). A towel to wipe sand/water off, sunglasses, and any personal medical equipment as asthma puffer.
While the transition area is closed to general public, the organizer cannot guarantee and does not take responsibility for your personal items. Ensure you place only the gear you require for the event. A marshal will be placed at transition area.
Note: make this visible to you - with hundreds of others shoes around you, put a colour towel, flag or marker to help remember where your gear is. Out of the swim many people are a little disorientated.
